                                                               How we met
We met back in 2010, in high school. We ended up in the same Spanish class (now looking back, I'm so happy that I failed Spanish 1 ;) I was a 17 yr old junior and he was a 15 yr old new freshman that was kind of a trouble maker but definitely a cutie. We became friends pretty quickly. Time went by (less than a year later) and he liked me, but I was convinced we were just best friends. We hung out every single weekend, I wore his football jersey and went to all his baseball games. I remember making ramen noodles at home and telling him I had a crush on him via text lol.  He was completely persistent. He even told me he wouldn't stop until I was his...serious props for him pursuing me like he did! I finally liked him back and we “talked” for almost 6 months because I was hesitant about getting into a serious relationship. I date to marry.  I remember thinking about and picturing him by side for it all. June 30th 2012 It became official aka I told him I wanted him to be my boyfriend and we've been in love ever since. We always had such a close, fun-loving relationship as best friends and that really made our relationship so solid. We kind of have a "high school sweethearts” story and I’m so blessed to have met him so young.

It didn’t take long at all before we knew we wanted to be married and I’m so happy it’s all happening right now. We are on the younger side being engaged at 20 & 22 but we are ready as we can be :) Being teenagers when we started dating, going through most of high school, us being long distance for a year while he was playing college football, getting new jobs, etc made us grow, together.  We learned a lot, and there's no one else I'd rather spend these last 4+ years with.
                                                   Our Engagement Story
Saturday July 2nd 2016 we had our date day celebrating our 4 year anniversary. We have been planning to have an “old day” as we called it where we spend the day at greenfield village, eat good southern food and buy some old fashion candy. We both love history we were loving it. After walking around for a few hours he took me in the gazebo and I just knew! He told me how much he loved me and said ” Victoria will you marry me?” as he opened the ring box. Of course I said, YES! It was so surreal the entire day. We chose to design the ring together and I chose to never see the finished product but it turned out PERFECT! We celebrated the rest of the day with our family and starring at my beautiful ring. He not only bought me the Fitbit I have been wanting (this guy is the only one who can surprise me) but this  special adventure book, just like the one from the movie Up! ( we’re big Disney lovers) Now we get to fill it with memories from our big, new adventure.

It was a beautiful weekend, filled with memories I will never forget. 8 months from right this moment we will be celebrating at our wedding with our closest family and friends. Our jobs are keeping us busy and right now I'm doing the planning (defintely going to do a blog post of that-because thats a job within itself!) but I'm doing my best to enjoy the now, loving my months at home yet we are super excited to start our life together!

Skinny & Co. Review

Wednesday, April 20, 2016

I have been using Coconut Oil for years now and it is hands down one of my favorite products in the world. It has tons of uses. You can go from eating it, to taking your make up off to help heal wounds. Today I'm going to share about Skinny & Co Coconut Oil, and ya'll it's been the best! They sent over some of their lovely products and I use them every single day. I don't share stuff on my blog that I don't personally use and love myself. I want my readers to be able to read honest reviews, so below is more about why it's my fav!
Sooo..what's better about this stuff?
 - It's 100% raw
-  It's cold pressed (no heat needed!)
- Totally organic, pesticide free, and unrefined
- It's made from wild harvested coconut in Vietnam.
- It smells amazing (duh!)
- A few products even have essential oils mixed in!

This is just the plain good stuff. This is what I use for cooking & baking, taking my eye make up off, & anything that I mix coconut oil with. I also apply this to all my cuts. This is the most common and what you will see in stores. This is my go-to because it's super versatile. Coconut Oil is anti-fungal, and antibacterial, that is why it's great to put over cuts because it acts not only as a shield but it helps speed up the process of healing. For cooking and baking i'm very mindful about how much I use. We shouldn't be getting too much saturated fat, the healthy fats are good for you but there's definitely the right balance. It's the BEST stubborn eye makeup remover I have ever used, just close your eye and wipe with a cotton ball. I should probably do another post on the uses because there are way too many to fit in here! Here's a few for now cooking/baking/eye makeup remover/shaving/oil pulling/hair mask/cuts/acne/moisturizer for dry skin/cleaning make up bags & storage/soften cuticles/eczema/dogs coat/

Oh this body butter, it's a new love. It's filled with almond oil and lavender essential oils. It smells so good. My favorite way to use this is  after the shower. I put this on all over and I feel  so relaxed! Using it before bed time makes your sleep that much better! It's whipped (not like lotion whipped, because it's oil) but it goes on so well and absorbs nice. I keep it right on my tray on my dresser...I can't get enough of this.

I love that they make this! It's the facial oil and this is great for putting on your face when all your make up is off and you're ready to moisturize. It's infused with roman chamomile (which is great for your skin!) and lavender essential oil. Your face is delicate so this is a great natural option for those of you who are careful about using harsh products on your face. Coconut oil can also help acne. Most people assume to not use oil if they already have oily skin but it actually helps contain the natural oils we already make, so it's a win win.

Coconut Coffee Scrub
- coconut oil
- ground coffee (not decaf)

Mix both ingredients together in a bowl. You might want to let your coconut oil sit out for a bit so it gets soft, it blends better with the coffee grounds that way. Then just rub into to face and or all over body and wait at least 10 minutes. Then wash off! It's that simple.

It makes your skin look and feel AMAZING. This is my easiest, cheapest scrub. The caffeine in the coffee helps tighten your skin, and rubbing in the grounds help exfoliate your skin. It also has great antioxidants. ( Just another reason why coffee is life right ;) The coconut oil leaves your skin super soft and refreshed. I do it at least once a week.

Tips: I first did this is the shower and it gets messy so keep a cup with you to rinse (or if your shower head comes off that's even better) because the coffee grounds stick to the tub and shower walls. Well because it's coffee it can start to discolor your shower liner, so just rinse it off right after.

Seriously, go buy this! It's not the cheapest out there but that's because with Skinny & Co. you get quality oil that comes in clear glass bottles so you can truly see what you are getting. Click HERE to shop and check out their awesome line of products!

DIY Soap Recipe

Thursday, March 10, 2016

I saw this idea on pinterest awhile back and decided to try it today, it's super easy! I don't have anything against store bought soaps (my favs are watkins, method & I just loooove all the bath & body works ones) However, this is a great alternitive to have on hand (haha accidental pun) when we run out. Foaming soap can be more fun too :) You could also make this into a body wash & add any coloring. If you only choose to have natural products for your family then this is it!

What you will need:
- Mason jar & Pump dispenser (an empty dial/b&bw foaming bottle works just as well too!)
- Dr.Bronners Castile Soap (any scent)
- Essential Oils
- Vitamin E oil (optional)
Mason Jar route:
If you choose to use a mason jar, you just have to use a tool to cut a circle in the top. I used a drill and it took me a good 15 minutesčśů. I suggest not using a regualr drill, but a circle cutter if you have one. Once you have the hole cut, place your foaming pump dispenser through it to where it's snug. Screw the lid on and that's it! I got my pump from a old Watkins soap.

Emptied bottle of Foaming Hand Soap:
Just thoroughly wash out :) You could also add your own label to it.

The scent I made was Lavender Lemon, perfect for spring! Both of oils are calming and refreshing. Any of the citrusy oils would be great too. I made sure to use Frankensise because of the antibacterial properties. <-- That's the oil that will kick sickness! The vitamin E is optional in case you don't have it, but a small bottle goes a long way...which also has about 87 uses ha! (find at amazon or health food stores)You can also get different scents of the castile soaps (which come in so many sizes & have tons of uses. I got this mini bottle at Target) The baby unscented kind I used is great for sensitive skin! I'm not sure how much it cost per bottle, you can tell you if you like math that much lol but I do know it's prettttyyy cheap! I hope you try this at home too!

DIY Foaming Hand soap Recipe:
- 1/4 cup of baby unscented Dr.Bronners Castile Soap
- 1 cup of water
- 1teaspoon of Vitamin E Oil
- 5 drops of Lavender
- 2 drops of Thieves
- 4 drops of Lemon

Mix altogether in your bottle and thats it!

Beauty in the Trials

Thursday, February 11, 2016

I need this and you just may need it too.
Nothing in this world has more power than the voice of God. It kind of blows my mind (in the best way) how we don't usually, if ever, hear him in an audible voice yet what he speaks to us, molds our entire definition of life.

I really wish that I could just facetime Jesus (Can you imagine though? lol) I can't wait to hear his voice one day, and see his face. It's giving me chills right now. That is just one of the reasons why my heart holds on so tight to my mission, to see him face to face one day. Faith plays into all of it so beautifully. We believe what we cannot physically see. We don't doubt his existance because we haven't touched his face. He doesn't have a magic wand that gives us whatever we want and most of the time he doesn't show us a timelime of our future. If we got what we wanted from Him all the time then we wouldn't need our faith to trust in Him. I have been in a Christian atmosphere my entire life. I have read this scripture above more than I can count...yet it gets deeper rooted in my soul because it touches my trials differently than the time before. Jesus has been speaking to me a lot lately and I can't help but share this portion specifically. I could write on this time and time again but this is good for now. Warning: There will be errors, weird wording & lots of run on sentences lol but really it doesn't matter. The Holy Spirit doesn't spell check ya'll.

You must always thank Him, because you can never thank him enough. No matter what you are going through, you HAVE to still have thankfulness and express that to him. (Psalm 95:2) Most people are thankful for what they have but knowing you are isn't enough. Tell Jesus, everyday. Sing, let the words of worship songs get in your heard.  Watch what He does. Tell yourself, tell your loved ones, tell it on social media, tell strangers...make known His good works. It's not just what you have but all about who gave it to you.

Keeping your eyes fixed on him. (Hebrews 12:2) This world is crazy and if we let it, it can leave us uneasy. Super uneasy. We live in such a fallen world but with knowing what Jesus is doing it blooms life. I love reading over scriptures because it renews my mind. Meditate on the Word (Psalm 1:2) No matter what changes, I know His Word remains the same. Stuff may not just go right away but God never lets up loving you. He see's you going through it, so he will let it be an opportunity to not only grow closer to Him but to lead others towards Him.

Let go. Trust him. Physically say it every single day. I have to trust in Him, no matter what my body is physically feeling or what my mind is thinking. Some things seem impossible and you may find yourself saying " God, pleaseeeeee help already!" or you may have 201 "whys" but it's not complicated. You can be in any state of emotion yet don't let that stop you from saying it to our Savior. He doesn't need you to know every avenue, or to have a grand plan or to do everything just right...He just needs your simple surrender. I have an organized type of way to doing life and this is one area where it melts away and goes to God. Thats all. One of my favorite songs says "so let go my soul and trust in Him, the waves and wind still know his name". The beautiful nature that surrounds us, it declares his work and love. They only move because they were created by God (Isaiah 55:12) Letting go to your human flesh is hard. It's not exactly natural. I almost laugh at how it works because I hate not knowing what tomorrow holds and thats exactly what I have to put my trust in Him for.  You just have to do it, it's almost unexplainable. Just let go, let go my soul.

It's a beautiful and painful process...to still go through something but search for good. To sometimes feeling like you're drowning but to know you won't drown. To experience something that you hate but knowing that your empathy is expanding. To trust in Jesus even when you have no idea how it will go. To have your heart break because you know how many other people go through it too but now you can pray for them. That since you know exactly whats it's like but now someone has another soul praying on their behalf. You can always pull good out of bad. Help someone else find it too. When something unexpected and painful comes but it makes you extra appreciative for when it is absent. God is so so good and it brings me to tears as I realize all that He is for us and all that we are solely because of Him.
